Aespira is derived from the Latin words aspera and aspirare — meaning to breathe, rise, and be inspired. It reflects the belief that clarity and purpose can reshape how we grow, lead, and live.

Why I Built a Practice Centered on Clarity, Trust, and Purpose
My career in international affairs has taken me around the world and into the heart of Washington, DC, where I had the privilege of working alongside exceptionally talented people from every background and perspective. Whether abroad or at home, these colleagues shaped my thinking, strengthened my leadership, and reminded me that meaningful progress is always a shared effort.
Throughout that journey, I was supported by individuals who helped me see my own potential—even in moments of doubt. Their belief in me reinforced a truth I carry into every conversation today: we all have the capacity to grow, succeed, and lead with purpose when we are supported, trusted, and understood.
Leadership, at its core, is about people. It’s about fostering clarity, strengthening others, and creating the conditions in which individuals and teams can rise to their best. In every chapter of my work—from global programs to high-stakes negotiations to organizational transformation—I’ve seen how people-first leadership elevates outcomes and inspires lasting change.
Aespira Collective was born from that belief. Coaching, leadership development, and organizational transformation are interconnected paths to helping people and organizations unlock what’s possible. Aespira Collective draws on deep experience across government, international trade, economic development, and organizational transformation—bringing together practical insight, disciplined strategy, and a global lens to help leaders and organizations navigate complexity and change.
Roger Mireles has spent more than two decades in federal public service — leading teams, building programs, and watching, up close, what happens when people have support and what happens when they do not.
He has seen talented people stall not because of ability, but because no one ever helped them think clearly about where they were going. And he has watched careers transform when someone finally had a guide.
Earlier in his career, Roger spent many years working across global markets, with experience in North America and Europe. These roles contributed to a broad understanding of how leadership decisions play out across cultures, institutions, and operating environments—particularly where strategy must translate into action.
That experience – not a framework, not a credential alone – is what he brings to every coaching engagement.
Throughout his public service career, Roger worked across sectors and institutions, collaborating with foreign governments, multilateral organizations, universities, and private-sector partners. His leadership consistently bridged strategy and execution, helping teams align focus, manage complexity, and deliver results grounded in purpose and accountability.
Today, Aespira Collective brings that depth of experience to each engagement through a collective model. While Roger leads the work, clients benefit from a trusted network of strategists, facilitators, coaches, and subject-matter experts who can be engaged as needed—ensuring the right blend of insight, capacity, and expertise for the challenge at hand.
